Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan underline full implementation of JCPOA

Istanbul, Oct 30, IRNA – The Iranian, Turkish and Azeri foreign ministers in a closing statement of trilateral meeting in Istanbul stressed the need for full implementation of the JCPOA and recalled commitments of the UN members to implementing the international deal

The sixth trilateral meeting of the Iranian, Turkish and Azeri foreign ministers Mohammad Javad Zarif, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Elmar Mammadyarov was held in Istanbul on Tuesday.

They issued a joint statement at the end of the trilateral meeting.

In the statement, they reiterated their adherence to the earlier statements in Orumyieh, Nakhichevan, Van and Ramsar, calling for promoting solidarity and cooperation among the three countries in the wake of historic, cultural and religious commonalities.

The trio also agreed to continue consultations in line with promoting regional and international peace, security and stability.

They underlined respecting territorial integrity of countries, peaceful settlement of disputes and non-interference in other countries’ domestic affairs.

The foreign ministers recalled the significance of the JCPOA which is the outcome of marathon talks, saying that successful implementation of the deal is contingent upon the parties’ compliance with their commitments.

Referring to Iran’s full compliance with the deal, they condemned unilateral sanctions against Iran.

The Iranian, Turkish and Azeri foreign ministers also reiterated their strong resolve to fight terrorism, extremism, organized crimes, human trafficking, money laundering, cybercrimes and security threats.

They voiced their willingness to boost cooperation in all fields including economy and stressed the need for using each other’s capacities in investments and trade.

The foreign minister also stressed the need for holding regular meetings in a bid to strengthen cooperation on regional issue.
